Sunburns and Sandy Feet in Egypt

Going back through these photos to edit them was painful.

I miss the warm air and the (chilly) ocean water.

SIGH.

We really enjoyed our holiday in Egypt (we had definitely worked for it– the week before we left was nutso for the both of us).

We spent 7 nights at the Maritim Jolie Villa in the resort area of Sharm el Sheikh. For those of you non-UKers, Sharm el Sheikh is a 5 hour flight away from those of us in London and due to the recent civil unrest over the past few years, it has become a pretty affordable winter sun destination.

In a nutshell, Tom and I wouldn’t go back there. Don’t get me wrong– we had a really nice holiday. We lounged, we sunbathed, we drank, and we ate. We also met another couple that were a ton of fun and did almost everything with them! Lots of laughs, sunburns, and fun nights. But the hotel was only so-so, and the whole area was seriously resort-y. Tom and I usually prefer a little bit more adventure and culture in our holidays.

But anyways. Ready for some photos? I took a million– can you tell it was my first holiday with my new Nikon?

Do you remember how I bought Tom and I passes for the No.1 Traveller’s Lounge for Christmas? Well we started our trip off right by hanging in the lounge while we waited for our flight. I’d say we definitely took advantage of the complimentary alcohol and breakfast…

The first night that we arrived in Egypt, can you believe it– it was POURING! But by the time we settled in, it was pretty late and we just got dinner and went to bed. Luckily, the next morning, the sun was shining!

Best part of our holiday? Relaxing… and being able to have some time to read!
