First up on our list of hotels to stay at in London for Christmas is The Langham. If you’re the kind who likes to go OTT with their Christmas decorations, then you’ll certainly enjoy it here during the festive period. It’s close to Oxford Street, the place to go for London’s famous festive illuminations, and it’s usually kitted out with a forest of Christmas trees, a twinkly fairy light-lit lobby and a wreath on every single one of the 188 room doors. The Christmas lunch menu is also pretty impressive; the set menu comprises the classics – roast turkey, halibut, aged beef or pumpkin pie with an assortment of starters and desserts to choose from, best washed down with a glass of port.

The Stafford, St. James’s Park
Celebrate the festive season in style at The Stafford, a top hotel to stay at in London for Christmas vibes and a home-away-from-home in the heart of St James’s Park. Christmas trees come by the dozen here, and fairy lights illuminate the hotel facade. Suppose you decide to enjoy Christmas dinner at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, Michael Caines. In that case, you’ll get to indulge in a sumptuous five-course feast, where you can choose from dishes like The Stafford Beef Wellington and pigs in blankets doused in turkey gravy. They also do a vegetarian and vegan menu with dishes like beetroot wellington and saffron arancini.

Claridge’s Hotel, Mayfair
If there’s one place that really goes all out for the festive season, it’s Claridge’s. Everyone knows them for their iconic Christmas tree, but this classic Mayfair establishment knows how to host a memorable Christmas in every aspect. Expect traditional Christmas carols, a horse-drawn carriage ride around Mayfair, stockings for all ages, storytelling for children on Christmas Eve, and even a visit from Santa himself, who pops in to say hello with one of his little helpers. Moreover, every year, the hotel gets a seasonal makeover from a renowned designer; last year was an iconic set-up by Louis Vuitton, so this year is certainly something to get excited about. You can also enjoy an excellent festive afternoon tea here in the Art Deco Foyer and Reading Room – expect turkey and stuffing sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and the Claridge’s famous Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.

ME London, Covent Garden
Celebrate the festive season at ME London Hotel, a luxurious hotel located in the West End close to the twinkling lights of Oxford Street and right around the corner from the ice skating rink at Somerset House (reopens this November). Last year at the skating rink, there was an alpine-themed lodge where you could sit and enjoy a drink or two. As for the hotel itself, the last Christmas event included a nine-storey Atrium showcasing a virtual Christmas tree embellished with gold leaves, sparkling lights and falling snow, so this year is definitely something to get excited about.

The Standard London, King’s Cross
There are few better places to open your final advent calendar door than at The Standard hotel on a chilly Christmas morning. They go all out for Christmas at this King’s Cross hotel, with a winter yurt serving Snowball slushies and a Christmas lunch at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Decimo, a contemporary Mexican/Spanish restaurant with sweeping views of London’s skyline. You’ll feast on Spanish pigs in blankets, fried potatoes with aioli and Cornish cod with salsa verde. The space is always decked out with classy Christmas decorations, with festive installations designed by emerging designers Harris Reed and Chet Lo, as well as Raissa Pardini in previous years. There’s also a vegan menu available for plant-based diners. You’ll also be a stone’s throw away from Platform 9¾, so you might want to head down there first thing in the morning and channel your inner Harry Potter Christmas-style.

The Henrietta Experimental, Covent Garden
Every year, The Henrietta goes all-out with its Christmas decorations and welcomes the festive season with a twinkly bang. Last year, the hotel hosted a Miracle pop-up cocktail bar (pictured above) serving festive cocktails in a 70’s-inspired Christmas living room decked out with retro decorations and multicoloured fairy lights. From mid-November right up until a few nights before Christmas, you can sip on eggnog cocktails served in vintage-style mugs and bop to the sound of Christmas tracks while the fireplace roars with hanging stockings above. When you’re maxed out on Christmas vibes, slink back into the boutique hotel where the stylish rooms promise a comfortable stay, designed by French Interior Designer Dorothee Meilichzon, who took inspiration from the streets of Covent Garden.

The Connaught, Mayfair
You’re guaranteed a cosy London Christmas with a stay at The Connaught, a five-star hotel in Mayfair. It’s renowned for its spectacular decorations, towering Christmas tree and sophisticated festive food menus. Start your morning with a walk through the neighbouring Hyde Park and finish your day with a meal in the hotel’s three Michelin-starred dining room, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, where usually you can indulge in a six-course Christmas menu. If it’s lunch you’re after, the hotel also serves a Christmas afternoon tea of peppered pastrami sandwiches, spiced chocolate brownie, and honey lemon mousse, which can all be enjoyed around the open fire. Guests will also receive a personalised letter from Santa himself before they arrive.

Treehouse London, Marylebone
Last but not least on our list of hotels to stay at in London for Christmas vibes is Treehouse London. It looks like any old office block from the outside, but inside it’s a plant-filled, design-lovers’ paradise, and all of the rooms come with fabulous city views. Keep an eye out for there’s Christmas afternoon tea. 2026 dates haven’t been released yet, but if 2025 is anything to go by it’ll be more affordable than some of the other teas you’ll find nearby, made up of a selection of sandwiches, like smoked salmon and cream cheese and roast turkey and cranberry. For the sweet tooth, you’ve got mini mince pies, Christmas fruit cake, and classic clotted cream scones with strawberry preserve, with the option to add a glass of Champagne or a cocktail for a surcharge.
