Glide through purple fields of lavender at Mayfield Lavender Farm

Visiting the violet meadows of lavender that make up Mayfield Lavender Park is probably one of the best things to do in London in June. Well, actually this 25-acre lavender farm is located 15-miles outside of central London but it’s easy to get to and offers a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of busy city life. Meander through the jaw-dropping purple fields and snap a few photos before stopping by the café for a bite to eat after.

Boris bike around London’s lush parks

There are over 12,000 Santander bicycles, better known by Londoners as Boris Bikes, spread out across 800 docking stations throughout the city. Plus, there’s a Day Pass that lets you rent a bike from £3.50 a day. A top thing to do as the days get warmer is to hop on one and head for one of London’s lush green parks. Victoria Park in East London is lovely and is home to the Pavilion (their almond croissants and Sri Lankan breakfasts are to die for) or Brockwell Park in South London is just as relaxing.

Go see the anticipated Frida: The Making of an Icon exhibition at Tate Modern

London’s most anticipated art show of the year is finally hitting the Tate Modern. This exciting exhibition showcases over 30 (!!!) of Kahlo’s most iconic works, alongside treasured garments, jewellery, photographs and memorabilia. If that’s not enough, it’s also got over 200 works by her contemporaries and the artists she inspired.

Having been eight years since a major Kahlo exhibition has come to London, this one is not to be missed. I expect it’ll be a popular one, so advance booking is highly recommended.

Dance your socks off to Pitbull and Maroon 5 at BST Hyde Park

Summer in London wouldn’t be complete without British Summer Time Festival. The series kicks off on the 27th of June with country legend Garth Brooks playing his first UK show in nearly 30 years. The full run also includes Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, Duran Duran, Pitbull, and Lewis Capaldi across the two weekends in July.

Get hungry for London’s iconic Taste of London food festival

London’s favourite food festival returns for five delicious days in Regent’s Park. This year’s edition brings together more than 30 restaurants serving over 130 dishes, blending established favourites like Los Mochis with standout newcomers including Hakkasan and Ixchel.

Beyond these incredible plates, there are fire-fuelled cooking demonstrations, hands-on masterclasses and chef-led sessions, plus a curated marketplace of over 160 artisan producers.

Popular sessions sell out fast, so make sure you book relatively early (in other words – now!).

Learn something new at a free science festival in South Kensington

This free weekend for curious minds of all ages celebrates how science and the arts help people, communities and nature to flourish, with events spread across London’s Science Museum, as well as Kensington Gardens.

Some of the best parts of the program include a Family Fun Zone with interactive performances and science shows, plus a NextGen Zone full of robotics, human biology and more, specifically designed for young innovators.

Celebrate His Majesty’s birthday at Trooping the Colour

It’s His Majesty’s sovereign birthday on the second Saturday of June, where over 1,400 marching soldiers take to the streets with 200 horses and 400 musicians to mark this momentous occasion. Wave your flags high and proud as the parade takes centre stage all the way down through Buckingham Palace in this must-see royal spectacle.

Join in the celebrations for World Gin Day

Celebrating World Gin Day in London is basically a London rite. Londoners really love their gin and events pop up all across the city in celebration of what was once one of the most dangerous alcohols to drink (it used to be nicknamed Mother’s Ruin!) These days it’s trendy as hell (and safe) and Londoners drink it by the gallon.

One of our favourite events includes a Gin Journey around Soho where you’ll try some of the best gins in the area with your very own appointed “gin guardian”. Lots of other bars will be participating, so have a walk around and see what you find.

Sing your heart out at West End Live

Presented by Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre, West End’s biggest stars will perform songs from some of London’s leading musicals and must-see new shows. Live and free in Trafalgar Square on 20th-21st June 2026, this event is a fun day out for adults and kids of all ages. Since it is not a ticketed event, entrance is offered on a first-come-first-served basis, so I recommend getting there before gates open. More details about entry times are available on West End Live’s website. Please note: you will probably need to queue, but it will be worth it!

See in the summer at Stonehenge

For a big old slice of English heritage, you can’t get better than summer solstice at Stonehenge. Watch in awe as the sun rises behind the prehistoric monument and the rays begin to seep through the heart of the stones. See here for info on how to get there from London.

Participate in London’s Pride Month activities

From vibrant parades to queer art shows, cabaret nights, and community events, there’s no shortage of ways to join in. Whether you’re LGBTQ+ or an ally, check out our article on the best Pride Month activities happening across the city.

Take a dip in the chilly Hampstead Ponds

Hampstead Heath is arguably one of the prettiest parks in the whole of London (at least that’s what every North Londoner would say). What makes it even better is the excellent outdoor swimming ponds in the heart of the park that are ideal for cooling off from the June rays. There’s an all-ladies pond, a men’s pond and a mixed pond, and each one invites you in for a chilly swim surrounded by nature. You can book tickets for each via the link below.
