The currency we use here in the UK is called “pounds”, or GBP (Great British Pounds). It’s a different currency than used in the rest of the world’s countries, so every visitor to London will need to exchange their own currency into pounds to spend while in the country.
To find out how to get pounds for your trip to London, watch this week’s video– How to Exchange and Spend Money While in London. I tell you how to get pounds in cash, how much you should take with you to London, and where you can get more UK currency during your visit.

Hey Jess! Would you maybe think about doing a post with tips for people moving to London? I am American and my husband is English but has lived in the States the past 5 years. We will be moving back over to London before the end of the year. I would love to know your thoughts on the best way to transfer money, finding a place and choosing a London neighborhood, and moving services. Thanks!
Hi Lauren, thanks for your comment 🙂 For the time being everyone is loving my tourist tips for London so I don’t have any plans for videos like that right now, but that could change. Congrats on moving back here! You can always email me and I’ll try to help however I can 🙂
