This four-bedroom boutique address is set in the tranquil heart of Notting Hill in a stunning Victorian townhouse. Each room at The Lost Poet boasts its own unique design, with lively wallpapers, bespoke furniture, and reclaimed wood panelling from vintage science labs. While there’s no on-site restaurant, the hotel is within orbit of some of the city’s best restaurants, wine bars, cafes, and markets. Rooms are decorated with antique bric-a-bracs, bold colours and quirky furniture and are all unique in their own way. There isn’t a restaurant, but you can enjoy breakfast served in your room. Plus, it would be a waste to dine here every day when so many excellent restaurants are just a hop from the hotel.

The Rookery is a boutique retreat located right around the corner from some of the city’s top sights, like the Brutalist Barbican, the bustling Brick Lane and St Paul’s Cathedral. The hotel has a moody feel about it, but in a stylish way, with dark tones, creaky floorboards, and Georgian period features like original beams. Some rooms have four poster beds, vintage furniture, and extravagant oil paintings, all adding to the hotel’s authentic period feel. There isn’t a hotel restaurant, but you’re super close to many top wining and dining spots like Old Spitalfields Market, Bombay-inspired Dishoom and an all-time fav, Breddos Tacos, which serves tacos and Mexican small plates, as well as banging margaritas.

Last on our list of the best boutique hotels in London is Vintry and Mercer, a bespoke boutique hotel that oozes luxury and is located just moments from the Thames, London’s famous river. There are just 92 rooms here, inspired by the historic guilds of the area. As for decor, think contemporary spaces kitted out with 21st-century bits and bobs and finished with a retro style; you’ll likely come across old rotary phones and other quirky knick-knacks. There are two spots to dine here: Vintry Kitchen, a laid-back restaurant serving café food and excellent veggie and vegan dishes, and Mercer Roof Terrace, which has sweeping views of the London skyline. There’s also a subterranean speakeasy cocktail bar, ideal for late-night tipples.
