Expect traditional Christmas carols, a horse-drawn carriage ride around Mayfair, stockings for all ages, storytelling for children on Christmas Eve, and even a visit from Santa himself, who pops in to say hello with one of his little helpers. Moreover, every year, the hotel gets a seasonal makeover from a renowned designer; last year was a minimalist theme kitted out by Jimmy Choo’s, so this year is certainly something to get excited about. You can also enjoy an excellent festive afternoon tea here in the Art Deco Foyer and Reading Room – expect turkey and stuffing sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and the Claridge’s famous Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.

Celebrate the festive season at ME London Hotel, a luxurious hotel located in the West End close to the twinkling lights of Oxford Street and right around the corner from the ice skating rink at Somerset House (reopens this November). Last year at the skating rink, there was an alpine-themed lodge where you could sit and enjoy a drink or two. As for the hotel itself, the last Christmas event included a nine-storey Atrium showcasing a virtual Christmas tree embellished with gold leaves, sparkling lights and falling snow, so this year is definitely something to get excited about.

Every year, The Henrietta Hotel goes all-out with its Christmas decorations and welcomes the festive season with a twinkly bang. Last year, the hotel hosted a Miracle pop-up cocktail bar (pictured above) serving festive cocktails in a 70’s-inspired Christmas living room decked out with retro decorations and multicoloured fairy lights. The pop-up bar will reopen this year from 13th November to 23rd December. Sip on eggnog cocktails served in vintage-style mugs and bop to the sound of Christmas tracks while the fireplace roars with hanging stockings above. When you’re maxed out on Christmas vibes, slink back into the boutique hotel where the stylish rooms promise a comfortable stay, designed by French Interior Designer Dorothee Meilichzon, who took inspiration from the streets of Covent Garden.

It looks like any old office block from the outside, but inside it’s a plant-filled, design-lovers’ paradise, and all of the rooms come with fabulous city views. There’s also a Christmas afternoon tea, which is more affordable than some of the other teas you’ll find nearby, made up of a selection of sandwiches, like smoked salmon and cream cheese and roast turkey and cranberry. For the sweet tooth, you’ve got mini mince pies, Christmas fruit cake, and classic clotted cream scones with strawberry preserve, with the option to add a glass of Champagne or a cocktail for a surcharge.
